Innovation and Sustainability in Plastic Recycling
Founded in 2013 in Turin, Gianeco S.r.l. has over 12 years of experience in the research, development, and processing of compounds, recycled pellets, and regrind materials made from biopolymers and thermoplastic elastomers sourced from industrial waste. Our business serves a wide range of sectors, including compounding, construction, agriculture, design, fashion, and packaging – promoting a true circular economy model.
Our Mission
Our goal is to breathe new life into plastic and bioplastic waste by turning it into premium-quality materials for new products. We strongly believe that plastic waste is not a problem – it’s a valuable resource when properly recycled and reused.
We work closely with our clients every day to deliver tailor-made solutions, providing high-performance recycled materials that fit seamlessly into their production processes. Through continuous innovation and research, we are committed to building a sustainable and ethical system that benefits the environment and contributes to a more responsible production cycle.
Vision and Ambition
Our vision is to become a leading player in the recycling and sustainability space, offering forward-thinking solutions backed by advanced expertise and a team of highly skilled professionals. We want to help shape a future where regenerated plastic becomes a key part of the global economy – reducing environmental impact while supporting companies on their sustainability journey.
Our Environmental Impact
Each year, Gianeco reintroduces around 2,000 tons of recycled thermoplastic elastomers and bioplastics into the production cycle, playing a meaningful role in reducing environmental impact. Our dedication to sustainability translates into lower use of virgin raw materials, reduced CO₂ emissions, and tangible energy savings for both our clients and the planet.
What We Do
Gianeco acts as a bridge between companies generating plastic waste and those in need of recycled raw materials, offering cutting-edge solutions for various industrial applications. Our products are divided into two main lines:
BIOGEO: 95% recycled PLA, PBS, and PBAT pellets and regrind materials, ideal for sheet and panel extrusion, blown film for compostable bags, thermoforming, injection molding, and 3D printing. We are among the first companies in Europe to successfully recycle industrial bioplastic waste.
ELASTOGEO: 95% recycled pellets and compounds of TPU, SBS, SEBS, TPV, TPR, EVA, TPE, and TPO, used in construction, gardening tools, conveyor belts, flexible hoses, bituminous membranes, fashion accessories, and more.
Innovation and Technology
We collaborate with top laboratories across Italy to develop innovative solutions that enhance the quality and performance of recycled materials. We also use certified PIR traceability systems to monitor every batch, ensuring full transparency and quality for our customers.
Quality and Certifications
The quality and reliability of our products are backed by strict standards. Gianeco is ISO 9001:2015 certified and provides PIR, by-product, and EN 13432 certifications. We offer samples for lab and industrial testing, ensuring optimal storage and recycling services that preserve the properties of biopolymers and thermoplastic elastomers.

PIR and PCR: two acronyms, two materials, two prices
PIR and PCR often get used as if they were two ways of saying “recycled”. They aren’t. They’re two different materials, born in two different worlds — and that difference in origin decides three things a buyer actually cares about: performance, price, and what you can declare. Let’s take them in turn. The two acronyms,
Recycled Post-Industrial PLA (R-PLA): Properties, Certifications and Applications
PLA is the most widely used bioplastic in the world, but its story doesn’t end with the first use. When clean production scrap is recovered and reprocessed, you get recycled PLA — a material that is bio-based and recycled at the same time. This guide explains what R-PLA is, how it’s made, what properties and certifications it has,
How a batch of recycled material is qualified
“Recycled”, printed on a datasheet, isn’t enough. When a buyer receives a batch of recycled material, the question that matters isn’t “is it recycled?” but “can you prove what it is — batch after batch?”. Qualifying a batch means lining up four things that hold together: the stream it comes from, the consistency between one batch and the
